Monestary work and paramentic

Embroidered bonnet to cingulum cord

Since the 15th century, monastic works made from a variety of materials in elaborate and time-consuming manual work in monasteries have been part of religious customs in Austria.

Paramentics are concerned with the appropriate decoration of ecclesiastical spaces.  The pectoral cords are also part of the generic term Posamente. Practically, the Paramentik also deals with the proper design of churches, especially with altar (eg Antependium) and pulpit. We specialized in manufacturing paraments.

The embroidered bonnet was already on the verge of oblivion. Today it is worn again and it’s craftsmanship is taught in courses. We supply all necessary utensils like bullion, spangles, sequins and gimped yarn.
